Ill keep this one short so I can keep enjoying the day with my family. The kids really enjoyed Christmas this year. Santa got them a train set, books and lots of art supplies. They have been playing trains all day so I think it was a hit. Merry Christmas everyone!
It's Christmas Eve! We always go over to my Sister in law's house for breakfast for dinner. It's always a fun time hanging out with family. Noah was a very reluctant picture taker today!
Christmas eve eve! Today we went to Union Station which is just really magical this time of year. We will definitely be taking the kids every year. There is just so much to do and see there and we didn't even get to do it all. The kids loved the giant christmas tree, sitting in santas sleigh, all of the trains, lunch looking over everything, science city, mailing letters to santa, and a chocolate from Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory to end the afternoon.
We also have a tradition of our christmas eve eve box. I filled it at the beginning of December and its been under the tree waiting to be opened. We opened it when we got home from union station. This year there was a Curious George Christmas movie, Little Blue Truck Christmas book, and hot cocoa. The kids loved the movie and we read the book 6 times!
Today we toured a preschool which I loved so much! Then we watched frozen because K had been wanting to. The kids watched the whole movie which is very rare still. We did a bunch of wrapping. I would love to say we are done but we still have a little bit left. I cant believe how fast December has gone. Its almost Christmas!
Today we had fun building a gingerbread house. The kids were able to help put on lots of the pieces. Im ashamed to say I did the icing work. ;) I think it turned out ok though.
We also went over to my niece and nephew's birthday party. They turn 4 tomorrow! I really cant believe they are 4 already. They are such sweet kids. Im glad mine have them to look up to.
Today J and I did a ton of wrapping. We got a lot done but have a bit more to do. The kids were so excited to see presents under the tree.
Today we did a hot cocoa craft and drank hot cocoa. Once again I did a lot of the craft and I am really not good at them. I think we have established that I do not have the eye or skill for anything artistic. The kids liked seeing the craft though and they did help me glue everything on. They loved the hot cocoa.
Today we did a snowflake painting craft. Kahlan was very excited but Noah was reluctant. He doesnt really enjoy crafts or coloring of any sort. After he saw Kahlan painting he decided to join in and ended up having fun. The kids did a great job on their part. I on the other hand am not a crafty person. I think anybody else could have taped up a better snowflake then mine but the kids didnt care.
Today we wrote letters to Santa. Noah asked for a train set and a surprise. Kahlan asked for a train set, books, and colors (by that she means any art supplies at all. She is obsessed with drawing and coloring). Hopefully our next few days will be a bit more exciting. ;)
Well I'll just be honest today was not exciting at all and there are no pictures to go with. We spent the day watching christmas cartoons and movies. We watched rudolph, The year without a santa claus, and Fred Clause. Kids had a good time.

Today we made ice cream cone, frosting, and skittles Christmas trees! Kids made a mess and loved it. K was a bit disappointed we couldnt put it on the tree but she quickly decided to eat it instead.
Today we took this kids to see santa at the mall. The kids were really excited but I wasnt sure if they would sit on his lap without crying. They did so great. Noah may not look like hes happy in the picture but when he is enjoying something he gets a very thoughtful look on his face. They both really liked seeing santa. After the pictures we let the kids ride the carousel, finished up all of our Christmas shopping and went lunch.
The kids went with daddy shopping for me so there are no pictures of them today but J and I bought his family a limo tour of Christmas lights and we all went out to dinner and then did the limo tour. We had a really great time! It may become a yearly tradition.
Had to go low key again because I also needed to get ready for a Christmas party. So I went with a super easy beaded candy cane craft. It was great for building fine motor skill and practicing patterns (kids need lots of practice on that still) and the kids had fun.
J and I attended a great Christmas party put on by our brother-in-law's parents. Great food, drinks, and the best gingerbread forest ever!
