We spent memorial weekend at my in laws. There was a huge hail storm, great food, tons of fun outdoor time including the kids first water balloon fight. Monday we cleaned the garage, went to a park, had ice cream and did some organizing for our upcoming garage sale.

Chicago vacation 2017
Such a fun mini vacation in Chicago. Saw lots of family. My grandma, my great aunt, my cousin Ryan, and my mom. We went to Odyssey fun world, the Shedd aquarium, and the museum of Science and Industry. We ate portillos italian beef and chocolate cake shake, aurelios pizza, and Rainbow cones and brought home some Fannie may candy. It was certainly fun for all.
Moving up! PreK graduation
This is such a special time. Exciting and bittersweet. The kids graduated preschool and will be starting kindergarten in the fall. The graduation was adorable. They sang a song about moving up to kindergarten and they said what they wanted to be when they grew up. Noah said a chef and Kahlan said an engineer.
Kids turn 5!
I can not believe my babies turned 5! They are getting so big. We had such a blast at their Faulkners ranch pony party! Feeding animals, pony rides, and a fantastic baloon artist.
Easter 2017
We had a great Easter. The kids love egg hunts now so it's lots of fun. Love spending time with family.

Valentines Day
The kids told me they had a great time at their Valentines Day party and they brought lots of fun treats home from their friends. I bought a special dessert that we had seen them make on Unwrapped, Cannoli, that the kids really enjoyed. Then we gave them a little gift for each of them. Some candy and K got shopkins and Noah got a new 3ds game.

Art Time
Ok moms let me ask you a question. What do you hate doing that your kids love and how often do you make yourself do it anyway? Part of my new year goals involved more quality time with the kids and letting them choose activities. This is something I struggle with because my daughter will always choose "messy art" and I just can't get excited about it. All the prep work and the potential messes and inevitable clean up makes me shudder. Buuuuut I'm trying to let go of my hang ups and provide them more opportunities to do the things they love and in turn have more memorable moments with them. So today we did glitter paint and you know what it wasn't so bad. They had fun and I survived. K made a UFO with aliens and Noah made an abstract picture.
