3rd Birthday!

Before the birthday celebrations could start the kids needed haircuts.  This was K's very first haircut so of course we got some pictures.  She loved it.

The kids birthday was on a Monday this year but we still wanted to do something special so we went to the Chinese buffet because that is their favorite place to eat!  Grandpa, Baba, Grandma, Aunt Mandy, Uncle Justin, and cousins Augustin, Amelia, and Alistair all came to celebrate.
Birthday fruit plate (with imitation crab decorations. Hahaha)

The kids 3rd birthday was held on the following Saturday.  This was the first time we did a party outside our house and it was a blast.  We held it at Debbie Howards Gym and it was so worth the drive to have it there.  Everyone that was at the Chinese buffet was also at the gym plus Aunt Helen and Michaela and the kids friends Colwyn (and baby brother Liev), Jack, Gretchen, Mia, and Lincoln.  We did a very cute little jungle theme and all the kids had fun running, jumping and playing.  It was a rainy day so I was very glad we had it at an indoor place and didn't try to have it in our house again!  I highly recommend not having parties in your house when you can help it.  It made the day so much less stressful for me!

Johnson County Park Tour - Antioch Park

My friend had a great idea to visit a different park every Friday.  She lives in Johnson county which depending on location of the park can be 20 minutes or 50 minutes from me.  I dont mind driving up to 30-40 minutes to hang out with friends and find some new great new places to play so I will be taking the kids to as many of these as possible. (Stay tuned for the Lees Summit Park tours on Wednesdays!)

Today we went to Antioch park.  It was so awesome.  It has multiple playgrounds, a very cool miniature town, tons of shade and seating, indoor bathrooms, and a great walking trail with a pond and bridges.  I was very impressed with this park and we will come back sometime with J so he can see it.

Fish and Fairy Tales

Today we met up with some awesome friends and went to the SeaLife aquarium, had lunch at Spin pizza and checked out the free fairy tale exhibit at crown center.

SeaLife is a great little aquarium but it is very small and kind of expensive.  We were lucky that my friend was able to get me in free and the kids are free (only until three so this was the last time).  The kids traveled through rather quick and we were only there a little over a half hour.

Crown center has rotating exhibits and we haven't checked any of them out before so I was really excited about this fairy tale one.  I was not disappointed.  It was really well put together and had lots of different things for the kids to interact with.  Im looking forward to the next one which is a story book theme of modern children's books!

Fun Spring Weekend

We had a great weekend full of lots of family and fun adventures.  Saturday we spent the day cleaning our back yard.   Grandma and Baba came over to help and J did some power washing!

On Sunday Grandma Spring came for a visit.  We went to Fritz railroad restaurant for lunch and then to science city in Union station, grabbed some ice cream and the kids opened birthday presents from Grandma Spring.

We love Union station so much that we bought a family pass for the year.  The Union station pass comes with a lot of benefits and Im looking forward to enjoying it with the kids this year!

Easter Fun

We had a ton of fun on Easter.  Easter bunny dropped by with baskets and hidden eggs and then we went to my SIL for a great lunch and another egg hunt with their cousins!
