25 Days of Christmas - Day 7

Today my mom came to visit and do Christmas with us.  We went out to brunch at an italian place called cinzettis and came home and opened up presents.  The kids got books, dress up outfits, cars, trains, lacing cards, a vtech airport set, and their favorite gift of all was the box it all came in.  Thanks grandma Spring!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 6

Today was seriously a blast!  We took the kids to sealife and legoland.  There was a surprise at the end of sealife and santa was there!  I was so surprised how well the kids did.  They went up to him and talked to him.  They were a bit tentative but seemed to enjoy it!  We had been to sealife before and it is fun but the kids loved loved loved legoland.  I wasnt sure they would be able to do all the things that they have but they were!  There was 2 rides.  1 we had to save a princess and we got laser guns to shoot targets.  The kids loved that one.  They didnt really shoot anything but they had so much fun that we rode it twice!  The other one was a flying ride that the kids really enjoyed too.  They also had a 4d movie that was about 20 min long that was perfect for the kids.  They sat through the whole thing with their 3d glasses on.  There was wind and rain as the 4d elements and the kids thought it was great.  Really one of the best days we've had in awhile!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 5

Well today on the list was to go shopping for daddy but it was rainy and im almost done shopping for him so we opted to stay home.  Noah did tell me what he wants to get for daddy but I think I might have to order it online.  K hasn't given me an idea yet but I'll keep asking!

Since I changed the plan I still wanted to do something fun so I did our nails with a Christmas theme.  K and I got manicures and Noah got his big toes done because he didnt want to be left out.

We went to a Christmas open house at my niece and nephew's preschool.  It was a lot of fun for the kids.  Tons of crafts and activities.

All of our nails.
My manicure!
Crafts are KK's favorite!
My cute niece and nephews!
Throw the halo on the angels!
Yay for no clean up this time!
Hot chocolate to end the night!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 4

Today we did a rice sensory bin.  It was a huge hit.  The kids played with it for 2 hours!  The bin was made by dyeing half the rice green and half red.  I let it dry then added vanilla extract and cinnamon to make it smell yummy.  Then mixed it all together.  I threw in christmas cookie cutters, red pom poms (remember those from yesterday?), jingle bells and beads.  I gave the kids funnels and measuring spoons to play with and let them loose!

After we were done with that I gave them a new set of christmas jammies because the other ones got a little food coloring on them and needed washed.  Then after dinner we read Christmas stories by the fire.

25 Days of Christmas - Day 3

Today was another busy day.  We picked up our christmas cards (Now I need to work on the long task of addressing them).  We met daddy for lunch which the kids were very excited about. Then after nap we did a reindeer hand print craft.  Ks didnt quite turn out as planned.  Her poor reindeer has a leg coming out of the neck and antler out of the back but this was the second attempt and I just didnt want to go for 3.  Noahs turned out nicely though.  We had a special dinner tonight, snowman pancakes!

Baby ketchup faces with daddy!
Supplies needed for reindeer craft.  Brown white green paint, construction paper, red pom poms, google eyes, jingle bells.
Finished product.  Hint: space your hand prints or you wind up with a special reindeer.
Snowman pancake with bacon scarf, chocolate chip buttons and marshmallow snow. Yum!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 2

Today has been a busy day.  We woke up and had our morning chocolate. I think that is the kids favorite part!  Then we had a visit with the kids parents as teachers teacher.  We discussed K's spitting issues.  She wasnt sure whether this fell into a sensory issue or normal toddler boundary testing/defiance.  She was going to look into it a bit more but K doesnt show any other signs of sensory issues so im not very worried.  After the teacher left we started our day 2 activities.  We did a handprint snowman ornament and a snowman coloring sheet and we put up some Christmas window clings.  Kids are having a blast so far and im glad to keep them busy!  Tonight I get to go out with my mommy friends to play bunco.  Love my moms nights out!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 1

So here we go! Day 1 of our 25 days of Christmas.  Today the kids woke up in their new Christmas jammies (I gave them to them last night), opened day 1 of the advent calendar which had a chocolate for both of them and a note about the days special activity, had juice with breakfast (a special treat here.  Noah even said "we dont have juice with breakfast!), and did the special activity which was putting up a felt Christmas tree that they can decorate and redecorate.
