Ok moms let me ask you a question. What do you hate doing that your kids love and how often do you make yourself do it anyway? Part of my new year goals involved more quality time with the kids and letting them choose activities. This is something I struggle with because my daughter will always choose "messy art" and I just can't get excited about it. All the prep work and the potential messes and inevitable clean up makes me shudder. Buuuuut I'm trying to let go of my hang ups and provide them more opportunities to do the things they love and in turn have more memorable moments with them. So today we did glitter paint and you know what it wasn't so bad. They had fun and I survived. K made a UFO with aliens and Noah made an abstract picture.

Hello 2017
I love New Years for all the hope and new beginnings it represents and the opportunity to reflect on the past year. All years have their up and downs of course and 2016 was no different but I like to focus on the positives.
Noah and Kahlan grew leaps and bounds in independence and intelligence. They are becoming little kids instead of babies or toddlers and I just love watching them grow and learn. I love spending time with my family and I love all the adventures we go on together!
I have some of the best friends I have ever had in my life and this last year really helped grow those friendships. I can't wait to keep hanging out with these girls in 2017.
I lost 10 lbs this year! Is it as much as I had planned, not exactly but it is a really good start.
Goals for 2017
1. Lose 25 lbs
2. Exercise 3 times a week
