Let's Get Real

In case my blog or my fb posts have you fooled, let me tell you that I do not have this parenting thing down.  Sure I did the 25 days of Christmas and it was fun but it was also exhausting.  I'll be honest I was down right tired of crafts by the end.  Especially since a majority of the time was me doing the craft while kids observed or me cleaning up thousands of grains of rice!  Yes my fb is loaded with pictures of us playing outside, at playdates, and other various activities but those are the exceptions not the norm.  No we do not have crafts and sensory activities daily.  No we dont always have playdates.  Thats just what I post because our daily lives are far from exciting!

Lately our day to day has been controlled by potty training.  We have been working on it for over a month and have left the house very little in that time.  I have finally given up on the idea that we wouldn't use pull ups and put them on the kids so we can go places because I was going crazy.  Potty training may be the most frustrating thing I have ever done.  Especially since my daughter will not poop in the potty no matter what I bribe her with.  It has taken far longer then I ever expected and included way more hours of tv time then I will ever admit.

Kids eating breakfast on the couch watching tv.
Kids doing puzzles.  Messy house.  Still in pjs. (Me included)

First Signs of Spring

We have been having some awesome weather the last few weeks!  I can only hope it's here to stay.  J and I just absolutely love doing things with the kids outside.  We take the kids on walks and hikes, we play tons in our back yard, and we frequent local parks and the zoo.  The kids reaIly seem to thrive when they are able to get outside and run around. I am hoping to start posting more of our adventures now that we are doing some more fun stuff.
